Purchased from Royal Ahold, GBarbosa is the largest supermarket chain in Brazil’s northeastern state of Sergipe and the fifth largest supermarket chain in Brazil. At the time of exit, G Barbosa had a network of 32 stores (hypermarkets and supermarkets) in Brazil’s northeastern states of Sergipe and Bahia. GBarbosa was sold to Cencosud, S.A. in November, 2007.
