Telemundo is the second largest Spanish-language television network in the United States. At the time of exit, Telemundo owned and operated 8 full power UHF television stations and 17 low power stations in the top Hispanic DMA’s throughout the U.S. as well as a VHF station in Puerto Rico. Telemundo was acquired by Bastion Capital (a predecessor fund to ACON) as it was emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Telemundo was sold by Bastion Capital to NBC (a division of General Electric) in April 2002.
